It's summer in New Mexico, which means it's hot. And what better way to cool off than by going to a public pool or water park? There's plenty of water fun to be had near Albuquerque homes for sale. Here are a few of our favorite spots.

Beating the Heat in Albuquerque Pools

Cliff's Amusement Park - Albuquerque, NM

4800 Osuna Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109

Since 1959, Cliff's Amusement Park has been the place to go for thrills and excitement. It's also the spot for amazing water fun at Watermania. The park's water area has attractions for all ages. Lil Squirts is for younger kids, with water fountains and a splash pad. And for older kids and adults, there's Mega Water Monkeys, an intricate water playground featuring:

• Water blasters
• Squirt decks
• Tipping and dumping water buckets

Enjoy other water attractions throughout the park, like their Big Flush inner-tube water slide or the giant drop on the Rocky Mountain Rapids water ride. Closed Mondays, they're open at 11 a.m. the rest of the week. An adult must accompany guests 17 and under.

West Mesa Aquatic Center - Albuquerque, NM

West Mesa Aquatic Center is home to Albuquerque's newest Olympic-sized pool, which has two 1-meter diving boards and can be configured with either eight 50-meter lanes or 24 25-yard lanes. It's a practical spot for lap swimming, water exercise, lessons, or a casual dip. The center has both indoor and outdoor pool facilities. The indoor pool has a tower water slide, while the larger, outdoor pool has two water slides. Different activities have different time slots throughout the day, so check the schedule to find the best time to drop by.

North Domingo Baca Park - Albuquerque, NM

7521 Carmel Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113

Plans are in place to build an entire aquatic facility at North Domingo Baca Park. In the meantime, the North Domingo Baca Spray Pad creates a perfect spot for kids of all ages. The splash pad is part of the 57-acre park with a variety of other amenities, including:

• Skate park
• Playground
• Picnic area
• Leash-free dog area

It's a great spot for a family outing, or just to cool off for a couple of hours on a hot afternoon. The city lists the spray pad as open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sept. 7, 2026.

Los Padillas Aquatic Center - Albuquerque, NM

2141 Los Padillas Road SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105

There's a great pool facility at Los Padillas Aquatic Center. It has facilities for laps and water exercises, a kids' play area, and more. They also offer swimming lessons for children of all ages, from the Parents and Tiny Tots class for kids aged 6 months to 3 years to the Shark Class for kids aged 10-14. You can even rent the pool for your private party, with at least 60 days' notice. 

Sierra Vista Pool - Albuquerque, NM

5001 Montaño Road NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120

Sierra Vista Pool is a 25-meter pool with two water slides. They're open throughout the summer for swimming lessons or general water recreation. Children aged 5-14 can join the Metro Aquatic League, which has teams for various organized water sports, including:

• Swimming
• Diving
• Water polo

There are practices throughout the summer, as well as weekly swim meets, dive meets, and water polo scrimmages. It's a great way to keep your kids active throughout the summer.
